Large ormolu ornamental vase or cassolette on a turquoise marble base. The bowl takes the form of antique Medici vases, the side decorated with a frieze of putti. A fine production in the Thomire style, dating from the late 18th century, Directoire period or circa 1800.

A fine large-format ornament for a mantelpiece, a piece of furniture or a pedestal table, which would also go well with a grand 18th-century or Empire decor.

Highly decorative and of fine quality, in good condition. Original mercury gilding in matte and gloss, worn and faded.
