Three-shelf sellette in bamboo and wickerwork by Perret et Vibert in Paris, the upper shelf decorated with a lacquer panel featuring a bird on branches.
Renamed the "bamboo house" in the early 1890s, Perret et Vibert was renowned for its Far Eastern-inspired furniture in carved wood, lacquer and bamboo. The manufacturer's nameplate can still be seen on the saddle.
Dimensions: 105 cm high, 34.5 cm square.
Sold as is. Overall condition is good, the harness is stable on its supports and still looks good. Cracks here and there, general wear to the lacquer, and a piece of snap ring missing from the molding on the top plate. More photos on request.
