This 18th-century Christ is sumptuous in its execution and technique. You'll note that the arms are sculpted from two other elements. The bone work is finely executed, and the frame is also from the 18th century.
The velvet inside is later, probably having been changed in the 1950s-1960s. The frame is embellished with flowers and shells, and features beautiful gilding.
We note that the Christ moves and has broken fingers, discoloration and stains on the velvet. There is some wear and rubbing, scratches, cracks and missing parts on the frame, as well as wear to the gilding.
