A Louis XV style two-part buffet in carved walnut
A very elegant two-part buffet in the Louis XV style, crafted from walnut, richly carved and worked.
The upper section opens with two doors, adorned with rocaille decoration and floral motifs.
This model, with its distinctive "gendarme's hat" top, is embellished with a garland of foliage and a carved floral basket motif in its center.
The interior of the upper section offers four levels of storage, with antique shelves. The lower section opens with two drawers at the top, then with two molded and carved doors, featuring a pull-out bread-cutting tray beneath the top.
The entire piece is richly decorated with foliage, scrolls, and rocaille motifs, with beautiful carved ornamentation running along the lower rail.
The interiors are meticulously finished and glazed, with a beeswax patina. The doors are mounted with swaged hinges.
The fronts feature exquisite molding and carving, enhanced by the warm patina of the walnut. The curved uprights and legs accentuate the flowing silhouette characteristic of Louis XV furniture.
This sideboard is of exceptional quality, both in its fine craftsmanship and its excellent state of preservation.
No major restoration was required, just a thorough cleaning and refinishing.
