Solid pine craft table, probably from an architect's studio or technical office in the 1950s-60s. The top, composed of three wide slats, is crossed along its entire length by two symmetrical grooves framing the central slat: a functional detail characteristic of worktables of this period, designed to allow a ruler or drawing tool to pass through on either side.
The base follows the sober vocabulary of modernist contract furniture: four straight legs with square cross-sections, connected by a low H-shaped brace. No ornamentation, clean angles, solidity in principle. The deep brown hue of the pine, enhanced by a satin varnish, accentuates the austere, graphic character of the piece.
An object that can be used in two ways: as a dining table for those looking for a reasonable size with a strong character, or as a large desk for a contemporary interior.
