This elegant estate chest of drawers, in burr walnut veneer, is distinguished by its shallowness and refinement. Its doucine drawer, integrated into the waistband, is embellished with a superb, finely-worked bronze escutcheon, accompanied by a key in perfect working order. Below this first level, three slightly recessed drawers of more generous dimensions offer optimized storage space. Each is adorned with bronze cupped knobs, functional locks and delicately carved entrances, sublimated by motifs of horns and bunches of flowers. The ensemble rests on a wide plinth and cut-out feet, giving this piece a harmonious look and impeccable stability. A true work of art crafted by the talented cabinetmakers of the early 19th century, this commode embodies all the craftsmanship and elegance of its era.
