KRIEGER
A beautiful writing desk made of solid, flamed mahogany.
The front features four drawers and a drop-down panel, with finely molded frames and fleurons in the spandrels.
The drop-down panel reveals an interior of lemonwood and mahogany with a stylized theater motif, topped with green leather.
Molded cornice with an inverted ogee, a laurel wreath and sprigs, foliated posts, and fleur-de-lis-shaped blocks.
Side posts feature fluted and twisted columns, laurel wreaths, and acanthus scrolls.
The lower crossbar is adorned with laurel garlands and knotted ribbons; the legs are spindle-shaped.
The back panel and shelves are made of oak.
Stamped signature: KRIEGER, PARIS.
Circa 1880.
