Magnificent piece of furniture from the Napoleon III period, topped by a white marble of Carrara finely veined with gray, following the curve of the front and sides.
This secretary is composed in the upper part of a flap simulating three drawers and in the lower part of four drawers.
The drawers are slightly curved on the front and underlined by bronze rods carved in application in its circumference. In front, they are composed of rosewood in the center, in four leaves, with a net of light wood and stained wood around the edge. The frame is in rosewood. Each drawer is equipped with two bronze handles, bronze entrances, original locks with their keys, in working condition.
The opening of the flap reveals a tabernacle composed of a niche, a large drawer simulating two, and two small drawers in the lower part. Inside, we find a black leather with golden vignette, enriched with a harmonious central ornament.
The front and sides of this secretary has numerous bronze trimmings. The rounded feet in rosewood veneer highlight the high and low falls. The sides are slightly curved towards the back and we find in the center an important four leaves rosewood with rosewood surround.
The upper part of the piece of furniture ends in a diminutive groove with rosewood veneer, bronze rod in its perimeter, bronze flower motifs in the corners and in the middle a bronze palmette.
In its top is an important molding in bronze godronné. At each corner, we find a bronze fall and in the middle an interlaced pattern.
Graceful and elegant, this Napoleon III secretary from the 19th century will delight you with its fine ornamentation.
