Attractive mahogany veneered game table with ebony and brass inlays and fluted legs. Fine Parisian production from the late 18th century or circa 1800.
It opens with a wallet top revealing a green drapery game mat. The pivoting tray conceals a cavity for storing games in the belt. Underneath, the label of the storage room where the table was sheltered from bombardment during the First World War can be seen, along with all the rest of the château's furniture from which it came.
The table is in good home condition, with buffer varnish cleaned and repolished by our cabinetmaker. No damage, apart from old cracks in the top veneer. A lovely, practical piece of multi-purpose furniture.
