An 18th-century modular parlor table with marquetry.
With scalloped edges on all sides, it features marquetry of violetwood and rosewood in inlaid panels.
The tabletop, mounted on a slide, slides backward;
this reveals the waist drawer, which, when opened, contains two sliding compartments and a central compartment covered by a marquetry flap and a hidden compartment concealed by a sliding back panel.
The slightly arched legs rest on gilded bronze feet.
Very good condition.
Restorations: stamp varnish.
Period: 18th century. Circa: 1760–1775
