Louis XVI style "Bonheur-du-jour" lady's cabinet, made of solid mahogany and mahogany veneer.
Its belt is equipped with a central drawer whose front, in vertical mahogany burl veneer, is surrounded by a light molding. Two bronze drawer rings, pearled with a rosette in the center, frame an authentic lock in working order, with an oval entrance topped by a Louis XVI knot.
The sides of this belt are identical and recall the front of the central drawer.
The set rests on sheathed feet with stopped flutes with a molded bronze ring at the top and ending with a square shoe.
The top is composed of a mitered solid mahogany frame, lightly molded, whose center benefits from an open book mahogany burl veneer, for a perfect symmetry.
When opened, two hinges with pins unfold and allow the shelf to be positioned on the central drawer. We then discover a writing space lined with a red leather with cold vignette, gold vignette and corners, framed by a mitered mahogany border.
The upper part of this lady's desk has two small framed doors in solid mahogany, mitered, with stave on the inside and darkened with an original mercury mirror. These are fitted with vertical bronze entrances, beaded and topped with a Louis XVI knot. The original locks are in working order. These doors open on offset brass lighters and reveal inside, a storage space, composed of an adjustable shelf on rack.
Underneath, we find two drawers with molded rods and a bowl knob in the center.
This upper part is provided with stopped fluted uprights.
The sides with a large panel respect the proportions and composition of the front.
This Bonheur-du-jour is topped with a white Carrara marble surrounded by an openwork brass gallery positioned at the back, on the sides and with a return on the front.
Refined and elegant, this small piece of quality furniture with carved ornaments will delight by its functionality and its ideal dimensions.
