Alexandre René-Louis (1826-1897)
Studied in Paul Delaroche's studio and exhibited at the Salon from 1848. The artist married Honorine Delaroche, his master's daughter, in 1855. A member of the Barbizon School, he also painted many views of Fontainebleau, Auvers-sur-Oise, Pontoise, Crécy, Asnières and Argenteuil.
His notable works include oils on canvas and pencil drawings, some of which are held in public collections, including the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Dole and Nantes.
