    Ink, watercolor and white chalk drawing on a tracing paper representing the interior decoration and furniture of the Salle Vertès (named after the hungarian born  decorator Marcel Vertès who made the wall decorations).
    Circa 1940.
    Opened in 1942, opposite the Odéon theater, the Mediterranée restaurant welcomes the prix Médicis in its lounges every year.
    Exceptional wall frescoes, produced by Chritian Bérard and Marcel Vertès (1895-1961) painter, decorator and illustrator born in Hungary and active in Paris from 1925, make the charm of the Mediterranée restaurant, of which Jean Cocteau was one of the regulars amongst many others.
    The work has been fixed in a mounting, passe-partout with neutral PH, ready to be framed..
