    Jean Marais (1913-1998)
    Actor, director, writer, Jean Maraisse retired to the Alpes-Maritimes in the 1970s, first to Cabris where he spent around fifteen years (a boulevard in the town near the house he lived in bears his name ) then to Vallauris where he practiced pottery, sculpture and theater. He opened a store and even an art gallery there thanks to a couple of potter friends.
