Rare pair of gilt bronze candlesticks called "wonderful" or "ballerinas", representing a trio of women leaning back, wearing ostrich feathers and wearing ballerina shoes.
Beautiful circular base bordered by a frieze of water leaves in the center of which emerges a small podium, draped, circled with palmettes, welcoming the departure of the barrel.
Refined guilloché work on the rings surrounding the barrel in sheath, on the bobèche with crosses and the outline of the binet with a frieze of stars.

Attributed to Claude Galle, this "ballerina" model is particularly rare.

Good state of preservation.
Original gilding, patina on the smooth parts.

Empire period.
