A very fine pair of candlesticks in chiseled, patinated, and gilded bronze. The shaft is formed by stylized rays supporting a sphere encircled by a band adorned with four zodiac signs: Libra, Capricorn, Aries, and Scorpio.
The whole is surmounted by a Zephyr blowing clouds, the latter forming the bobeche.
A round base adorned with a central star and thunderbolts.
Claude Galle delivered a similar model in 1805 for the Château de Fontainebleau, for the Empress's second salon.
