An elegant pair of "financier-style" candlesticks in chased and gilded bronze. The fluted stem is partially worked in a "barleycorn" pattern to create matte reliefs. It is punctuated by a ring with putti heads, the upper section decorated with vine leaves on a matte background, the lower section with shells and acanthus leaves on a matte background. The sockets are richly decorated with flowers, including four irises at the four corners, and the base is adorned with a rich decoration of cherubs resting on clouds, against a background of floral bouquets.
