Sumptuous Large Pair of Two-tone Chased and Gilded Bronze Flambeaux 19th Restoration Period circa 1830
Architecture of the Flambeau: Resting on a Terrasse à Ressauts and of inlaid form, with a tripod hocked base and Lion Claw feet covered by an Antique-style drapery with scrolls and leaves. The central shaft is a Baluster column decorated with scrolls, stylized leaves and ovals, and the capital is richly adorned with stylized antique leaves. At the top, composed of a wide, rich basin decorated with unfurled acanthus leaves, is a beautiful, wide, identically-decorated tap with all the decorative elements of the Flambeau, accompanied by its original removable bobéche decorated with oves. A rarity, the set is topped by its removable eteignoir decorated with Flamme à l'Antique. The entire torch is incoporated with fine, elegant Petits Guillochages.
Condition report: Exceptional condition, complete, original mercury gilding in two matte and glossy tones, very fine chiseling, composed of 15 bronze elements, which denotes very high quality workmanship and the best productions of the period and the mark of its age.
