An elegant and rare pair of Empire-period candlesticks, crafted from patinated bronze and finely chiseled bronze gilded with mercury, resting on a circular base decorated with concentric patterns of olive leaves and water leaves.

The tapered patinated bronze shafts are accented at their ends by bands decorated with water leaves at the bottom and stylized lotus leaves at the top. The lamp heads take the form of flames, evoking antiquity and the neoclassical style inspired by Roman architecture. The lampshades are finely embellished with a row of pearls.

An identical model with unchiseled bases and without lampshades was sold at Artcurial on June 17, 2025, lot 395.
