Pair of Virgin Mary & Jesus with Sacred Heart Candlesticks in Pressed Molded Glass by Portieux, 1950

Created by the oldest crystal manufacturer in France, the Portieux crystal factory in the Vosges region has existed since 1690 and is still in operation today.

This pair of candlesticks is a reissued model inspired by 19th-century crystal candlesticks, symbolizing the Virgin Mary beside her son Jesus, both in the Sacred Heart pose in a neoclassical style. It is important to note that they are made of crystalline glass rather than pure lead crystal.

In very good overall condition, this pair would be ideal on a religious table, or on a chest of drawers/altar dedicated to Christian devotion, placed on either side of a crucifix or devotional statue to illuminate the evening.
