    This large lamp, in patinated and gilded bronze, consists of a gadrooned column, chased at the base with acanthus leaves. It is supported by a central boss, adorned with palmettes and inverted acanthus leaves, and rests on a square base embellished with a gilded torus and chased with a frieze of oak leaves. Its upper section is shaped like a basin resting on a capital of gilded acanthus leaves. The chasing is superb and the gilding is in good condition except for a few minor signs of wear on the torus. It has just been rewired. We are presenting it with a basic lampshade, which does not justify shipping costs.
    Late Empire period.
