A delightful stained glass window depicting a landscape of the Vosges.

Jacques Gruber was born on January 25, 1870, in Sundhouse, Bas-Rhin, and died on December 15, 1936, in Paris. A French master glassmaker and cabinetmaker, he trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nancy. A scholarship was awarded to him by the city of Nancy, which allowed him to attend classes with Gustave Moreau in Paris.
In 1893, back in Nancy, he taught at the École des Beaux-Arts before creating vase decorations for Daum, furniture for Majorelle, and book covers for René Wiener. In 1897, he opened his own studio and developed a passion for all decorative arts techniques before turning his attention to stained glass around 1900.
In 1901, he was one of the founders of the École de Nancy and served on its steering committee.
