JAPAN - Edo Period (1603-1868)
Maetate depicting an Oni head in carved and red lacquered wood, with gilded eyes and fangs (slight lacquer loss, particularly on the chin). One horn has been glued back and one horn is missing.
The reverse is black lacquered and partially covered in silk.
Dimensions: 11 x 10.5 x 4.4 cm.

Sold with its base.
Dimensions with base: 21.5 x 11 x 10 cm.

The Kabuto is not sold with the maetate.
