JAPAN - Edo Period (1603-1868)
Oval, slightly domed jingasa in glossy black lacquered wood and hira maki-e in silver lacquer with radiating bands, centered with a clan mon depicting an eight-pointed star in gold lacquer (some wear), attachment ring on the back.
The edge is matte gold lacquered.
The interior is red lacquered (some loss to the edge), seven attachment rings for a veil covering the neck.
Blue silk chin rest and pad.
Dimensions: 13 x 34.7 x 36.2 cm.
