    JAPAN - Middle Edo (late 18th century).
    Samurai katana.
    FUSHI - KASHIRA en suite in wrought iron inlaid with copper, decorated with stylized plant motifs.
    Wooden TSUKA covered with ray skin and braided with black leather.
    MENUKIS in chased copper with black patina.
    TSUBA mokko-gatta in wrought iron and inlaid with gilded copper depicting a lakeside landscape.
    SAYA in wood and textured brown lacquer, the kojiri following the kashira.
    HABAKI in copper covered with silver leaf and hatched with oblique stripes.
    Straight blade with regular, straight, well-marked hamon. One side features a horimono depicting Fudo Myo-O, the guardian of faith, and the other gomahashis (ritual chopsticks), both topped with bonjis (Sanskrit characters invoking Buddhist deities).
    The silk is perforated once and stamped.
    Sold with stand and silk carrying case.
