Superb antique mirror in the Empire / Restoration style, in flamed mahogany veneer, richly decorated with finely chased gilded bronzes. French work from the 19th century.
Description

This architectural mirror features a structure with detached columns framing the mirror, topped by a triangular pediment decorated with an elegant bronze motif featuring stylized plant motifs.
Gilded bronze decorative elements include:

Central rosettes

Palmettes and stylized leaf motifs

Symmetrical friezes with neoclassical decor

Cylindrical columns with chased bronze rings

Winged figures / antique figures applied to the lower jambs

Central rose ornament on the bottom rail

The mahogany has a beautiful herringbone and butterfly grain pattern, typical of Empire furniture.
