This important oil on canvas, measuring 98 x 130 cm, dated 1962, and titled on the back "Rocks at Montsiberre," was exhibited at the prestigious Galerie Louis Carré (label on the back), which presented a solo exhibition of the artist's work in 1963 following his receipt of the Prix Fénéon in 1962, the year this work was created. Blues of incredible depth and density give this beautiful abstract landscape its full power. Gerard Xuriguera, discussing the artist's chaotic and repulsive figures and landscapes, placed him alongside Christoforou, Gillet, Rocher, Rustin, and Aubert among the "full-fledged expressionists" and included him in his study "The 1950s."

In addition to the Feneon prize in 1962, REVOL obtained the Lyon critics' prize in 1977.
