BALITRAN (Jean-Jacques) painter born in Agen in 1930. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Bordeaux, Tours and Orléans. In love with the Loire, he lived for a few years on its banks in Touraine. He knew how to capture its beauty and its special light. Always at the limit of the abstract, the spectator nevertheless finds himself immersed in a landscape or a composition which seems to him more and more perceptible and magical.
This superb work, an oil on canvas from the late 1970s, early 1980s, depicts a Loire landscape in typical tones of this fine artist's palette. Small originality: A marie-louise was painted in trompe-l'oeil by the artist.
It is signed lower right of the composition and titled on the back "Loire d'été en Touraine".
Dimensions: 80 cm x 80 cm (82 cm x 82 cm with its workshop frame). Good condition.
