"The Dovecote": A charming late 19th-century oil on canvas, featuring a lively view of a farmhouse adjoining a dovecote. In the foreground, a child plays among the farm's bric-a-brac—lined laundry, farm implements, a cart under a lean-to—with chickens pecking under a dog's gaze. The dovecote, with its steep roof interrupted by a step-like projection, is of the "mule's foot" type, very common in the Tarn and lower Quercy regions. The painting is signed A. Fou…(?) and dated 1881. It has been completely cleaned and revarnished by a professional restorer.
