A typical view of the Bordeaux quays, the historic Stone Bridge, all brick and stone, was built by order of Napoleon I between 1810 and 1822. A key figure in the landscape since the 19th century, it has attracted many painters, including Roger- Jean Lataste who signed his works "Roger Lataste-Sabatié" to differentiate himself from another artist of his generation who already signed "Lataste". Several of his works are kept at the Museum of Fine Arts in Bordeaux.
