Illuminated manuscript on parchment with 19th-century gold highlights.

This delicate miniature depicts the Virgin Mary holding the Baby Jesus on her lap. The scene exudes tenderness: the Child turns toward his mother in an affectionate gesture, while Mary tilts her head slightly, in an attitude of tenderness and contemplation. A radiant halo underscores their sacred nature.
The entire piece is framed by a border richly adorned with floral motifs, colorful foliage, birds, and insects—typical of French Renaissance illumination.

19th-century gilded stucco frame. Please note a few small foxing spots on the mat and minor restorations on the frame.
