Charming large bisque porcelain bust in 18th century Louis XVI style dating from the 1900s. It represents the young girl from the famous painting by Jean-Baptiste Greuze exhibited at the Louvre Museum - "L'Accordée de Village" painted in 1761.
Signed on the back P Houry - Paul-Louis Houry, sculptor born in 1889 and active in the 1900s.
Beautiful subject, finely executed, large format, very decorative. The themes and young girls painted by Greuze have often been reinterpreted in biscuit porcelain and the exercise of modeling a painting into a 3-dimensional work is particularly interesting.
Our bust is in excellent condition, no accidents.
Period - 20th century
Condition - Good condition
Measurement - Height 50 cm
