Elegant biscuit group in neoclassical style. It represents "The Lesson of Love" a woman dressed in ancient style preaching an entirely contrite love, based on the work of Boizot. Louis-Simon Boizot (1743 - 1809), famous French sculptor of the end of the 18th century, succeeding Falconnet at the head of the workshops of the Manufacture de Sèvres. It is a production from the end of the 19th century; It bears the signature of the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres on the base and is dated April 1891.

Ideal to complete a Neoclassical decoration from the 18th century Louis XVI, Directory or Empire; these decorative objects are typical of this era, to be placed on a chest of drawers or fireplace in addition to a clock or on a party table for a refined dinner. It is a piece adorned from all angles, intended to be seen from all sides in the center of a table for example or with its back to a mirror.

It is a large format piece. A very large number of biscuit groups were produced throughout the 19th century, copying Sèvres. Our group is an authentic piece from the very prestigious manufacture. Very fine representation in accordance with the Sèvres criteria of perfection, with many careful details: expression of the faces, fine detail of the clothing.

Perfect condition, no accidents or missing items.
