A very nice little Chinese porcelain pedestal dish from the late 19th c.  The shape is one more often associated with brightly coloured wares for the Thai market, but here we see it with the bird on a branch with calligraphy pattern.  Part of the text reads 春有富贵- Spring has prosperity - but I was told the final part, thought to be an artist's name was not clear enough to translate.

Although there isn't a date in the writing, the mark on the base (Guan Yao Nei Zao) is one that was used in the last decade of the 19th c and the style of decoration would fit with a Guangxu date, too.

The condition is pretty good except for a few firing faults and some chips / fritting along the serrated outer edge and a little on the inside edge of the bowl area.  Please look carefully at the photos and if you need any more please get in touch.

Please note the bowl is small being approximately 12 cms across and about 5.5 cms high ; it weighs 232 g.
