Superb Chinese tea service in unglazed brown clay (zisha), fashioned in the traditional Yixing style and adorned with relief decoration imitating bamboo. The service includes a square teapot (approx. 16 cm wide by 8.5 cm high), four matching cups (5.5 × 3.5 cm) and their saucers (8 × 8 cm). Each element is meticulously hand-modeled and bears a stamped seal under the base, characteristic of the meticulous workshop production of the Yixing region.
The spout, handle and lid of the teapot are entirely worked in a naturalistic style, with great attention paid to the details of the bamboo knots and stems. Made in China in the 20th century, this set is in excellent condition and perfectly embodies the sober elegance and finesse of traditional Chinese tea services.
This rare service, as functional as it is decorative, will appeal to both lovers of Chinese ceramics and collectors of refined tea pieces.
