    - Carved and gilded wooden eagle, 19th century work.

    - This gilded wood sculpture depicts an eagle, head turned to the right, with spread eagles holding a ring in its claws. The finesse of the carving allows us to appreciate the details of its plumage, each feather worked with a certain analytical description.

This large-scale work certainly belonged to a set of paneled panels. Similar scupltures can be found in the drawings of Pierre-François-Léonard Fontaine (1762-1843).
