Elegant pair of Louis XV period molded and carved walnut fauteuils à la reine. These flat-backed armchairs feature the typical lines of the Louis XV style: scalloped waistband with a curved and counter-curved jilie cut on the seat's front crosspiece, curved consoles and armrests with upholstered cuffs, curved legs ending in a scroll. The sober, refined carving features delicately executed foliage and flowers, particularly on the top of the backrest and the front crosspiece.

Restored and reupholstered in the traditional way some fifteen years ago (webbing and horsehair), they are perfectly serviceable, with upholstery in good condition. At great expense, they have been upholstered in a sumptuous pomegranate-patterned green velvet, with elegant highlights and a luxurious texture. Slight wear is visible on one of the cuffs, without detracting from the overall look.
