Pair of Emile Gallé chairs (attributed to) created between 1880 and 1890. Biography: Alastair Duncan and Georges de Bartha, Gallé Furniture, Antique Collectors' Club, Woodbridge, 2012, model referenced under plate 20 and reproduced on page 266.
Sculpted ash and sycamore with straight conical glabé backrest hollowed out in the upper part, surmounted by a thistle with a trace of green patina, the backrest is in wood marquetry with orchid decoration. Four baluster feet connected by a ringed spacer at the top.
