Cherrywood set with black lion heads and lion claws, original invoice preserved
Rare living room set comprising an elegant pair of armchairs and a small, intimate sofa, made by Maison Rémy Paris, located in the heart of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, a historic center of Parisian cabinetmaking and furniture making.
The original invoice, dated August 1, 1986, is preserved and accompanies the set. It lists the P6137 Confident model as well as the two P6136 armchairs, made of cherrywood and upholstered in Tzarine fabric.
The aesthetic evokes grand French neoclassical decor with a refined and timeless interpretation:
armrests with elegant saber curves,
slightly rolled backs,
carved and patinated black and gold lion heads at the ends of the armrests,
feet terminating in black lion's paws,
upholstery highlighted with decorative tacks.
The original golden yellow fabric is in excellent condition, displaying a beautiful decorative presence and a patina consistent with the age of the set.
These chairs offer remarkable craftsmanship, characteristic of high-end productions from the Faubourg Saint-Antoine district at the end of the 20th century.
