    Kazakh Carpet - Caucasus.

    Early 20th Century.

    215 x 136 cm
    In a state of near-miraculous preservation, a sumptuous carpet originating from the Caucasus.
    Woven and knotted wool on wool using traditional methods.
    The knotted pile is rather short, as is typical of most antique Caucasian carpets.
    The central field displays a wide variety of indigo blue with wonderful abrash.
    The dyes are exclusively vegetable-based, with exceptional depth and luminosity due to the very high quality of the dyes, which are both dense and saturated in places.
