A mantelpiece trim in chiseled and gilded bronze and elm burl.
The clock, shaped like a cippus with a pediment, surmounts a front panel featuring a bas-relief depicting an allegory between two pilasters topped by an eagle holding thunderbolts; the sides flanked by the symbol of the Empire’s generals; the base features broad heart-shaped stripes; the pedestal rests on a plinth with marquetry fillets; the enameled ring-shaped dial displays the hours in Roman numerals, with a star-shaped center pierced with palmette motifs.
The vases are made of crystal cut into diamond points; in the Medici style, they rest on pedestals with mother-of-pearl medallions containing an urn and surmounted by an eagle; the sides feature baskets laden with flowers; the base has foliage moldings on an Amati background; small eagle feet.
The movement plate is signed: “PLANCHON à Paris”
