    An Empire-period portico clock, made of chiseled bronze gilded with mercury, black marble, and white Carrara marble.
    Two flat columns, preceded by two columns formed of women’s heads, busts, and feet, frame the movement, which is surmounted by two sphinxes on either side of a white marble pediment decorated with foliage and cornucopias in chiseled bronze.
    They rest on a rectangular base adorned on the front with a bronze plaque featuring a charming scene of children at play.
    A drapery and a very finely chiseled and richly decorated apron are located beneath the white enamel dial, which bears the inscription: “à Paris.”
    Silk-thread-suspended movement, striking the hours and half-hours, in perfect working order.
