    Charming late 19th - early 20th century French alarm clock with exceptional Chinoiserie-style decoration. The metal case is painted with red lacquer, adorned with finely detailed oriental scenes enhanced with vivid colors. The exotic motifs evoke Europe's infatuation with Asian art during the Belle Époque.

    The enamel dial features Roman numerals and a small sub-dial for the alarm function. The mechanism is hand-wound, with French inscriptions: "Système perfectionné", "Aig. durée", "Réveil", "Nouvelle déposé breveté". The structure rests on a richly decorated gilded bronze base. The upper bell, in patinated metal, retains a beautiful original patina.
