Description
First edition of Brassaï's first major book, with text by Paul Morand. "Réalités" collection edited by J. Bernier. Paris, Éditions "Arts et Métiers Graphiques", 18 rue Séguier, 1933. Original spiral binding, cover illustrated with a photograph of wet cobblestones, title in red composed of nail heads.

A seminal work of night photography and of Brassaï's oeuvre: streets, mists, bistros, fortifications, night owls, Montmartre and Montparnasse. It brought him to prominence and remains one of the major references in French photographic books of the interwar period.
