Superb bronze statue of the goddess Irhevbu, Kingdom of Benin (Nigeria). In very good condition, with a high-quality cast, thick and heavy bronze (4 kg), a fine and detailed sculpture, and a beautiful natural patina of verdigris oxidation from age, probably from the beginning of the last century or earlier! Note the delicacy and refinement of the hairstyle, the hieratic and serene facial features, the jewelry, and the beautiful base with its interlacing motifs. Given its quality, this statue must have belonged to an important Beninese figure.
Height 43 cm, and 56 cm with the plexiglass base, which suits it very well.
