A luxurious Louis XV style barometer and thermometer, crafted in the second half of the 19th century in black lacquered wood with rich gilt bronze ornamentation, in the style of Jean Joseph de Saint Germain.
The frame is made of softwood and is lacquered black. The finely chiseled and gilded bronzes are mounted invisibly with through-threads.
The thermometer works; the barometer part no longer functions. The lacquer is in good condition, with a beautiful shine that highlights the bronze ornamentation, which is complete, without any gaps or breaks. These bronzes benefit from a very beautiful original mercury gilding that is still in very good condition.
