This lava stone (basalt?) wall plaque was created during the 1960s by the Picard family in Vallauris. I have 4 pieces signed Picard in one form or another and cannot state with certaintly which signature belongs to which artist. This particular is signed DGP. It measures 30 cms x 60 cms x 1 cm and is a heavy item with a sturdy-looking hanging attachment, although I do advise you examine it carefully before use just to be certain that you are satisifed that it is fit for purpose.
The wall plaque is very much a "child of the 60s" with beautiful colours and is in very good condition, but please note that lava stone is a unque surface, each piece has its own natural imperfections which is part of their attraction. There is fritting / minor chipping to the edges and corners but nothing serious to detracts from the beauty of the art work. If you would like further photos, or have any questions, please contact me.
Owing to the weight of this item, I will only price shipping within the EU, to the UK and Switzerland, however if you are interested in purchasing this and live outside these areas, please ask me for a quote.
