This silk fan is 16 strands, it presents on one side, three reserves, painted with gouache. The largest, in the center, is a genre scene where we see a gallant offer a lady a bird in a cage, on either side, a smaller cartouche inside which we can see a on one side a young man and on the other a young girl. The whole is placed in a rich vegetal decoration of multicolored flowers, embroidered with fine chains. The ivory strands are adorned with a chiselled decoration inlaid with silver. The first and the last strand are openwork and decorated with floral motifs enhanced with silver. Very delicate object whose silk begins to cut at the folds. Ivory, silk and gouache, second half of the 18th century. Folded length 28 cm.
