Polychrome Porcelain Sculpture of the Kneeling Virgin of the Nativity
Created in the 1980s–1990s, this polychrome porcelain sculpture depicts the Virgin Mary kneeling, her arms holding her veil around her body, symbolizing the Nativity.
Usually, this type of Marian depiction is accompanied by other figures in Catholic nativity scenes; here, she stands alone, making her ideal for a dedicated altar or for a collection of religious ceramic statues.
It is interesting to note the polychrome glaze on the clothing and the blue color of the body parts, giving the piece a very modern look.
