Sculpture of Saint Rita, in polychrome wood, dressed in a rich monastic costume of embroidered black velvet, with gold braid at the bottom of the dress. The saint is depicted in a pious posture, holding a rosary, symbols of her deep faith and devotion.
Her painted face, with its gentle, contemplative gaze, is topped by a white cloth veil, in keeping with traditional iconography. Articulated arms allow the pose to be varied slightly.
This sculpture, probably of Italian or Spanish origin, dates from the second half of the 19th century.
